Name: Epel Felmier Door: door pass Canon: Twisted Wonderland Canon Point: Book 7, ch 139 Age: 16 Appearance: image History: wiki Personality: ( + ) Altruistic: Epel is a very kind-hearted and brave person. He’s raised in a small village of mostly elderly people and he is one that helps without a second thought. He would always chase away crows from crops and do whatever chores he could to assist those in his hometown. When he comes to NRC he has trouble transitioning to the new environment. It’s no longer a close knit community that treats him like he’s family whether they’re relation or not. However, in spite of this his instinct to be helpful continues. He never seems to have an ulterior motive when he helps other and he does so without thinking it through (sometimes without a thought to his own wellbeing). One example of this is when he was in Styx with Rook and the protagonist they are suddenly attacked and by Epel’s own description he simply flew into action. Without thinking it through he was able to create a magical barrier that put both the enemy and the protagonist to sleep, keeping the latter safe from any attack and not actually harming their opponent. This turns out to be vital for them continuing on and on trying again it requires some encouragement and guidance from Rook. ( - ) Irascible: Epel is rebuked for his causal speaking and apparent lack of respect due to the way he talks. When this first comes up from Vil who at the time he first reprimanded him wasn’t even his housewarden. He talks back not thinking there’s anything wrong with his way of talking, which is continued disrespect. He is angered by the idea that he might be considered girly by anyone much less Vil who he views as weak and effeminate himself. Anything that implies that he might be weak or ‘girly’ is instantly met with anger and a declaration to fight. He hates being called cute as well. His anger is often quick to rise but he’ll deflate just as quickly as well if the offending issue is dropped. However, if he’s in a position like with Vil being above him and he can’t really overpower him in any way he simmers beneath the surface. This is shown when he’s with Deuce and is encouraged to yell his feelings out. He yells that just because someone tells him to be cutesie it doesn’t mean that he can. That all the changes expected of him are really hard and he comes from a place where not only were there not people his age but also there were more animals than people. Dropping his accent is hard and frustrating and to not let his accent slip he ends up quiet and demure seeming because of the difficulty. This not only goes to his speech but also the fact that his behaviors are brash and uncouth by the standards he’s being held to. He doesn’t really understand how to be fashionable (or how to care about it) or how to be elegant. He doesn’t want to be cute. Epel instead values strength and muscles and he wants to be big and strong and manly instead of the hole he feels he’s pigeoned into. ( - ) Stubborn: Epel’s stubbornness is a double edged sword. It pushes him to get better and grow stronger and to not give up on things he’s interested in. He’s extremely resilient in that way. However, it more often is overtly revealed in response to feeling like someone is imposing their will on him. This is something that comes up with Vil where Vil wants him to speak without his accent and to speak properly to people who are his elders or above him in social hierarchy but Epel views this as pointless and frivolous. Where people insist on calling him cute, pretty and assuming that he’s a weak pushover he’s stubborn in showing that he’s not. He doesn’t let upperclassmen steal from him just because they’re older. When given the chance to say what he wants to be he always goes with strong and manly. He never backs down from that even as he comes to respect his housewarden and vice-housewarden Rook. His stubbornness remains in ignoring things like when he buys Jamil a dessert for his birthday even though Jamil said not to. ( - ) Unsophisticated: Epel is from a remote village in the mountains and before going to NRC he really hadn’t had much experience with the more modern and mainstream world. In his village, he was the only kid and grew up around a lot of elderly people who also were from the same remote village. Because of this, he often comes off as rude and uncultured to those around him. Where he’s from, they don’t really use things like honorifics or a more accepted polite form of speech to address others. When he comes to NRC he’s regularly chided for not using honorifics with teachers or other students. His accent is extremely difficult for those around him to understand as well and he chafes under his housewarden’s insistence that he speak politely and not to lapse into his accent. He’s naturally a very loud and brash person but struggles with being made to feel like he needs to be smaller to fit the mold. Powers and Abilities: Signature Spell: Crimson Slumber A unique spell to Epel. He is able to cast a magical force field in the form of a glass casket that puts the target to sleep (a la poison apple in Snow White) Elemental Magic: Epel is able to cast spells like all NRC students from the elements of: flora, fire, water, and cosmic. There’s not really a rhyme or reason as to when one element is chosen over another. However, Epel is a first year student and is not very adept at spell casting currently. Flight: It’s pretty standard magically flying with a broom. In spite of being a first year he’s considered one of the best fliers in the Spelldrive club (flying sports ball), even so much that Leona is thinking about putting him into upcoming games. Alchemy/Potions: Epel is not naturally gifted in making potions correctly. While it does seem to be a speciality of his dorm he is constantly studying hard to try and learn and keep up. While, he’s not the best at the actual potion making he is quite good at tending to the plants used, making homemade fertilizer etc. Inventory: magi-pen, a sweater made by his grandma which he is not wearing at arrival, his tsum Samples: one & two |
